Privacy Policy

Missouri Business Referrals ("MBR", "we", "us") is a private networking app used by
members of local business-referral chapters. This policy explains what information we
collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account info you provide during sign-up or when an administrator adds you: name, email address, phone number, business name, business category, job title, profile photo, and a short bio.
- Activity you log in the app: referrals given or received (including the contact information of the referred person), business-summit meetings, invited visitors (including their name, email, phone, and business), attendance records, and meeting comments.
- Authentication data: an encrypted password and session tokens. We never store your password in plain text.
- Technical data: device type, operating system version, and basic log data when you use the app.
How we use your information
- To provide the core features of the app (directory, referrals, meetings, reports).
- To send transactional email notifications you and your chapter expect: welcome emails, referral alerts, meeting cancellations, speaker reminders, visitor invitations, and RSVP confirmations.
- To send transactional push notifications on mobile devices (for the same events above) when you have the app installed and have allowed notifications. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.
- To let your chapter's leadership team see aggregated statistics (referrals given, money generated, attendance, etc.) for their chapter.
- To troubleshoot issues and improve the app.
Who can see your information
- Other active members in your chapter can see your name, business, contact information, and activity totals, just as they would in an in-person chapter.
- Members of other chapters in the same organization can see your name, business name, business category, and profile photo when they are looking to send you a cross-chapter referral. They do not see your personal phone number or email unless you have accepted a referral from them.
- Your chapter's leadership and the organization administrator can see the above plus payment and attendance status.
- Visitors you invite receive an email with meeting details and an RSVP link. Their name, business, email, and phone are visible to your chapter's leadership after you log them.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We share information only with the vendors needed to operate the app: Supabase (authentication, database, file storage), Resend (transactional email), and Cloudflare (hosting and email delivery records). Each vendor is bound by its own privacy terms.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: sign in, open your Profile
screen, and tap "Delete my account". When you do, we immediately remove your personal
information (name, email address, phone number, business name, job title, profile photo,
and bio), sign you out, and invalidate your login so you cannot sign back in.
Activity you logged while your account was active — referrals you gave or received,
business summits, and visitors you invited — stays in your chapter's records for
accountability and reporting, similar to how a business keeps transaction history after
a customer closes an account. These records are no longer tied to your personal
identity after deletion. If you need activity records removed as well, contact your
chapter leadership or the administrator below.
Cookies and local storage
The web version of MBR uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between
visits. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or trackers.
Children
MBR is intended for adults aged 18 or older.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the date at the top and notify
members through the app or via email.
